The fifth annual “Open Streets Chickasha” is slated from 10 am to 2 pm., Saturday April 30 in downtown Chickasha. The free event, a program of the Chickasha Area YMCA, will be happening from the Rock Island Depot to 3rd Street on Chickasha Ave. The street will be closed to traffic so folks can wander freely.
 Open Streets is a community gathering that encourages people to enjoy a day outside being active with family and friends. With food trucks, vendors, inflatables, games and entertainment, everyone, both kids and adults, will be promised a good time.
 “ Participants will also be eligible to sign up for raffle prizes donated by community businesses,” said Lewis Knisley, director of the Chickasha Area YMCA. “Open Streets is an international concept that is celebrated in many countries. Getting to know and celebrate friends and neighbors who also live and work in Chickasha is an important part in building community.”
