Peggy Marlene Sites


Peggy Marlene Sites, 85, of Cement, stepped into Glory to be with her Lord on the morning of Wednesday, April 20, 2022. Her funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022 in the Cement First Baptist Church with Casey Fine and Laurie Stinnett officiating.

Peggy Marlene (Pooler) Sites was born April 17, 1937 in Cement, Oklahoma the daughter of Ernest “Frex” Pooler and Lois M. (Taylor) Pooler.  

Peggy graduated from Cement High School in 1955. She then went on to complete her beautician certification through the Oklahoma Barber and Beauty College. She worked for many years as a beautician in the Cement community and later worked for Braum’s.

On April 17, 1958, her twenty-first birthday, she married the love of her life, Harry Eugene Sites at the Cement First Baptist Church. After 54 years of marriage, he passed away in June of 2012.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Cement then a member at Parkview Christian in Chickasha and most recently at the United Methodist Church in Cement. Peggy was a great cook and enjoyed going to concerts. She loved spending time in Eureka Springs and going to craft shows, especially War Eagle. She waited 50 years to become a “Gigi” and doted on her grandchildren and she loved taking them shopping.

Peggy was preceded in death by both parents, an infant son, and her husband Harry.

Survivors include her children Desi Goldsmith and husband Rex of Cement, Russel Sites and wife Jennifer of Cement, and Tonya Williams and husband James of Cement; grandchildren Taylor Sites, Jesse Sites, Josh Frazier, Jessica Smart, Jordan Mejia, and Joshua Williams; nine great-grandchildren; fur grandbabies Boo and Dinah; and other extended family and friends.

Interment will be in Cement Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
