Paula Gayle Bevill


Paula was born December 14, 1940, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, the daughter of Sylvester Howard and Margie Mae (Allen) Howard. She passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
 Memorial services for Paula Gayle Bevill, 81, of Chickasha, was held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Eddie Cox officiating and Zack Bowles assisting.  She grew up in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High School. At 16 years old she was crowned the Rodeo Queen and donated her saddle to the Borden Park Community Center. She graduated from Oklahoma College of Liberal Art with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
 On August 5, 1960, she married Michael Douglas Bevill, Sr. in Chickasha and they shared 55 years together before his passing in 2016. They worked hard for many years on Mike’s family farm southwest of Chickasha.
 Paula was very active in the Lupus Society and started a Lupus Support Group in Chickasha in the 1990’s. She was a member of the Round Up Club and Country Club and did volunteer work on a helpline.
 Through the years, she raised her children, helped with the farm, worked at a bank and worked for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority. She loved to play bridge and duplicate bridge, reading books and listen to classical music. Her family was the most important thing in her life and she loved them deeply. She will be greatly missed.
 Survivors include her daughter Mia Kolar of Chickasha, son Michael D. Bevill, II of El Reno, 4 grandchildren, sister Sylvia Turner Couch of Addison, TX, and niece Tammy McCusker and husband Joseph of Durant, 9 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, and other extended family and friends.
 Paula was preceded in death by both parents, an infant brother Ed Oliver Howard and her husband Mike Bevill.
