Almost a tradition as they are approaching a quarter century, Ross Seed True Value will host its 24th annual Plant Daze sale starting Thursday and continuing through Saturday this week. Began as a one day event, the formal opening of the greenhouse behind the True Value hardware store ventured to an 8 day event in 2020 to satisfy the COVID 19 pandemic issue of avoid crowds. Last year the business made the decision to make a three-day event.
“The three day sale allowed us to accommodate more customers in not such a hurry-hurry atmosphere.” said manager Paul Horton. “Then this year we may still be waiting on some items to arrive that have been ordered since last year.”
Horton explained that inflation is wreaking havoc on pricing and the problem of getting product is a challenge.
“We are seeing a huge price increase on some items, particularly chemicals compared to years past and freight bills continue to rise” said Horton.
We will have most items that shoppers are use to being able to purchase during the sale, however, we may have to substitute some as well or wait for shipments” Horton said.
Located at 412 W. Choctaw Ave. in downtown Chickasha, the sale will kick off your lawn and garden spring season. With many new discoveries and beautiful plants, trees, shrubs and flowers. You’ll also find bagged goods like soils and mulches and an expanded supply of pottery items available for purchase.
You will notice a new store layout that was completed around the first of the year with the bulk seed counter being moved and other items rearranged to make shopping much easier.
With the largest selection of the season, and regardless of the changeable OK weather, Paul Horton and store associates plus at least twenty others (from the El Reno location, local students, FAA members and sales reps) will be ready to help you with gardening tips and purchases, including loading your vehicle.
Plant Daze hours are March 31st to April 2nd, regular store hours from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with the exception of Saturday hours until 5:00 p.m.
Come by Ross’ biggest sale in 104 years of operation, have some snacks, meet friends and neighbors, and get your garden off to a stunning start in 2022.
