Due to travel restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Peking Acrobats will unfortunately not perform during the 21st season of the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma’s Davis-Waldorf Performing Arts Series as scheduled.
 Instead, the family-friendly shadow dance company The Silhouettes will bring their acclaimed show “LOVE Happens” as the first DWPAS event of the new year on Thursday, Feb. 17, at 7:30 p.m. in Te Ata Memorial Auditorium.
 Season ticket holders and others who have already purchased a ticket for the acrobats need only show their ticket to be admitted to The Silhouettes. Individual tickets for the new show are on sale now at usao.edu/dwpas.
 “Unfortunately, given the circumstances of the pandemic, we knew that hosting any international act would potentially pose a problem. Having an understudy go on is part of the new normal for the performing arts,” said Katie Davis, professor of theatre arts and executive director of the series. “We are thrilled to have been able to book this dazzling act with short notice and are committed to continuing to offer our audiences exceptional entertainment and cultural experiences. As it happens, this is the perfect show to give as a gift for Valentine’s Day.”
 Founded in 2009 by Lynne Waggoner-Patton, The Silhouettes are America’s premier shadow-dance company. They were the first runner-up on season six of “America’s Got Talent” in 2011 and Golden Buzzer winners on “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” in 2020. Their multi-media show “LOVE Happens” takes audiences on an emotional journey of laughter, tears and goosebumps as they explore the types of love that fill our world: everything from the love of friendship, family and pets to romantic love, the love of a child, the love of music, the painful side of love—even the love of chocolate!
 The Science & Arts Foundation presents the Davis-Waldorf Performing Arts Series with support from the Oklahoma Arts Council, Chickasha Public School Foundation, Mid-America Arts Alliance and corporate and community partners.
