Sonjia Marlene Dalrymple Henderson was born Wednesday, February 9, 1955, in Chickasha, to Mark Weldon and Mae Ellen (Bratcher) Dalrymple. Sonjia passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022, in Enid at the age of 66.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 11, 2022, at the First Assembly of God, Rush Springs, with Rev. Lonnie Harris and Rev. Tom Lemke officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral and Cremation Services in Marlow.
Visitation will be at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs on Wednesday, February 9, 8:30 AM – 8:30 PM, Thursday, February 10, 8:30 AM – 8:30 PM, and Friday, February 11, 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM.
Sonjia was a graduate of Sterling High School. Sonjia later earned her Bachelor’s degree from Cameron University. She spent her time working as a florist for Sands Flowers, and she was a Pastor’s wife. She married Rev. Larry Henderson on June 26, 2010. Sonjia later married Pastor Lester L. Lowry in Enid, April 30, 2018.
Sonjia was a member of The Rush Springs Lion’s Club and Rush Springs Retail Merchants. She was always helping and enjoyed serving the people in her community. Sonjia loved cooking, singing, playing the piano, and visiting with people. She always put her family above all else and she enjoyed being a Pastor’s wife and ministering at Evangel Assembly of God in Enid. Sonjia was actively ministering at her and her husband, Pastor Lester L. Lowry’s church, at the time of her death. Sonjia will be deeply missed by all.
Survivors include her husband Lester of the home, father Mark Dalrymple and wife Sharon, 3 sons: Kenneth Henderson, Richard Henderson and wife Anca, and David Lowry, 5 daughters: Shari Farmer and husband Wade, Lori Frimann and husband Mark, Davene Pearcy and husband Galen, Lesley Womack and husband Brian, and Loraine Jenkins and husband Will, several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, 3 brothers: Kent Dalrymple and wife Shawn, Leland Dalrymple and wife Judy, and Dennis Eaves and wife April, 2 sisters, Carol Delozier and Lori Taranovich and husband Scott, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Sonjia was preceded in death by husband Larry Henderson mother Mae Ellen Bratcher, sister Sharon Sours, and lifelong best friend, Sandra Darlene Pate.
