WL “Dub” Chaney was born April 26th, 1931 in Fillmore, Ok to George W and Mary Lee (Smith) Chaney.  WL “Dub” passed away January 5th, 2022, at Grady Memorial Hospital at the age of 90.  Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 15th, 2022 at Vimy Ridge Church, 4179 CS 2875, Rush Springs, OK at 10AM.

Dub grew up in Fillmore, OK then later moved to Grady County and married Lessie Mae Payne on August 22nd, 1953.  Dub worked in construction, farming and for a time at Union Hill Electric.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, puzzles and reading.  His love for his family was endless and he lived to help all he encountered.  He never met a stranger.  His children and grandchildren were his greatest joy.  Words can’t describe how badly he will be missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George W and Mary Lee Chaney, brothers Herman and Felix Chaney, sisters Myrtle Maricle, Armenta Turner and Mildred James.

Dub is survived by his wife Lessie Chaney of Ninnekah, Daughter Nancy Malone of Chickasha, Son Andy Chaney and wife Sandy of Owasso, Son Wesley Chaney and wife Rhonda of Athens, TX, Daughter Emily Upright and husband Jeffrey of Ninnekah, sister Joyce Hurley and husband Keith of Chickasha, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
