Julie graduated from Captain Shreve High School in Shreveport, LA in 1977. There she was an All-Star Twirler and loved to drive her yellow VW Bug. She attended both Northwestern State University and UT-Tyler and made lifelong friends while there. From her first marriage in 1979 she was blessed with two of her daughters, Diana in 1983 and Katie in 1986. After moving to Texas, she married her husband of 26 years, Greg, in 1995. Shortly there after she was blessed with her third daughter, Jackie, born in 1997. She was a loving, hard-working, and, supportive mother. No matter the circumstances, she always made sure that her daughters were taken care of. More recently she moved to Chickasha to support her family. As the years went by, she was blessed with 4 beautiful grandchildren and earned her favorite title yet- she became known as Yaya and was adored by all her grandbabies. In addition to her role as Yaya, she worked at Chickasha Public Schools joining the Lincoln Elementary family as a paraprofessional loving her students like they were her own family.

A lover of dogs, she had several over the years and was a loving grandmother to her many granddogs. Julie enjoyed cross stitching, knitting, musicals, and was a fan of John Wayne movies. Though some of her family lived far away from her, she maintained close ties with them and spoke to them frequently including a very close relationship with her mother, Ann, or as Julie referred her, “The Number One Lady”.
