Eldon Fitzpatrick


Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 27, 2021 at the New Song Church, Chickasha, OK. Interment will be on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Eldon Fitzpatrick, of Chickasha, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021 in Chickasha, OK at the age of 80. He was born January 21, 1941, in Chickasha, OK to Kermit and Opal Fitzpatrick.

Eldon was born in Chickasha and grew up on a farm in the Ninnekah area. Eldon started school at Fairview School then went to Pioneer from 8th-11th grade and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1959. After graduating he went to work in a machine shop, after working there for a few years Eldon started to work at Morris Brothers Horse Trailers for 10 years as a welder. After Morris Brothers closed he worked for Premier Horse Trailers for about a year before he began working for Stidham Horse Trailers where he worked as a welder and delivery driver, where he delivered horse trailers across the country, for 25 years. While he was working he was also raising cattle and custom cut and baled hay with his sons. He would also in his younger years buy and break horses which he would then sell them. He had a favorite horse named Silver that was a Golden Palomino which he rode at all the rodeo parades and grand entries. In his spare time he also owned greyhounds and would trade them with his friends to try and get the fasted one to hunt jackrabbits with. Eldon worked hard his whole life and loved his family he was also a big prankster and would pull pranks on his entire family nieces and nephews included, he loved telling jokes as well. Eldon met Patricia, the love of his life, in 1961 at a birthday party they were married the very next year on July 5, 1962. Eldon and Patricia lovingly raised 5 children. Eldon was also a member of New Song church for 56 years where in his younger years he served as the Sunday school superintendent, deacon, and was active with the youth, where he would take the youth on hay rides in his blue hay truck.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kermit and Opal Fitzpatrick; and granddaughter Ciscili McCurley.

Eldon is survived by his wife, Patricia (Lawson) Fitzpatrick; sons, Ballard and wife Karen Fitzpatrick, and Joseph Fitzpatrick; daughters: Teresa Fitzpatrick, Sandi and husband Michael McCurley, and Sarah Fitzpatrick; 13 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and another grandchild on the way; brothers: Laray Fitzpatrick, and Dwain and wife Carolyn Fitzpatrick; sister, Brenda Rogers; as well as many nieces, nephews, and family friends.
