Hearl Mink


 Hearl Lee Mink was born September 2, 1939 to Henry Willis Mink and Delia Gamble Mink in Apache, OK. He went to be with the Lord on November 1, 2021 at his home in Spavinaw, Oklahoma surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
 Funeral services for Hearl Lee Mink, 82, of Eucha, formerly of Cement, were held on Friday November 5, 2021 at The Assembly of God Church in Cyril with Randy Cocheran officiating.
 He attended Cement High school. After high school he worked in the oil field before joining the Air Force. He served a total of 22 years in the Air Force before retiring. He was sent to Okinawa, Japan during the Viet Nam War and served there 1 1/2 years.
 He married Ina Marie Scott on September 12, 1961. She was the love of his life. She passed away on June 29th, 2020. They were married 58 years when she died.  
 When they moved back to Oklahoma, Hearl drove a vacuum truck for awhile in the Cement area then moved to NE Oklahoma where he worked for Lair and Sons concrete driving a cement truck. He also retired from there. He was known as “Sarge” to all of the people he met in the construction business and at the cement plant.
 Hearl and Ina were involved in music most of their married lives. They had such a love for Bluegrass/Country music they wanted to pass it on to their children. They formed a band called “Hearl and the Hill Country” when he was stationed in Minot, ND. Three of their children, Lisa, Kelly, and Monty were members of the band. The band won a battle of the bands contest at the Fair in Minot, ND in 1981. Before the kids joined the group, Hearl would always have a jam session with old friends when he was home on leave.
 Hearl loved his family, he loved living on the farm and being outside. He loved his country and was so proud to be a veteran. No matter what job he took, he did his very best and was pretty good at it. He was loved by all and will be missed by many.
 Hearl was proceeded in death by his wife, Ina Scott Mink, his parents, brothers, Clifford Mink, and Don Ray Mink, sisters, Brenda Stephens, Helen Scribner, and Donna Sue Sealy, daughter Lisa Mink Cox, and 1 nephew, Barry Jo Mink.
 He is survived by son, Dewayne Mink and wife Marti of Oklahoma City, daughter, Kelly Mink Greene and husband Clark of Spavinaw, OK, son Scott Mink and wife Beth of Dickinson, ND, son Monty Mink and wife Dana of Cement, OK, son Stacey Mink of Spavinaw, OK, brother Jack D Mink of Blanchard, Ok, sisters Jane Smiley and husband Lawrence of Cement,Ok and Sandy Cogburn also of Cement. Hearl had 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
 Interment will be in Cement Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
