OBITUARIES

Guwanna Kay Moore

A celebration of life service for Guwanna Kay Moore, 65, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 14, 2021 in the College Heights Baptist Church fellowship hall with Pastor Bryan Haynes officiating the service.

Guwanna Kay Moore was born December 1, 1955 to Ervin “Bill” Busby and Mary Frances (Miller) Busby and passed from this life on October 5, 2021 after a very brief battle with cancer.

She grew up in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High in 1975. In 1969 she was involved in a very severe car accident and overcame a lifetime of chronic pain.

She met and married Garry Moore on November 26, 1983. They lived in Amber, Oklahoma until they both retired. She worked at Gabriel Ride Control (Maremont) for 27 years before deciding to retire and then obtained her CNA certificate. She worked as a private duty CNA for another 20 years, retiring completely in 2020.

Kay, as she liked to be called, enjoyed working on her puzzle books, spending time with her grandchildren and never missed her soap operas. She was quite sad when the Chickasha Daily Express stopped being a daily publication and always had to pick up the Thursday edition and read it from cover to cover.

She was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Mary Busby, brothers Bill Roe and E.J. Busby, sisters Alzoria Byford and Okla Brewer and grandsons Dakota Doucet and Jaxon Drew.

Survivors include Garry Moore of the home; Daughter Sandra Drew and husband Keith of Chickasha; Bonus Daughter Charlene Wyatt and husband Darrel of Chickasha; Sister Deborah Brown of Chickasha; Brother Doug Long and wife Harlene of Maud, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and friends who became like family to her.

Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
