Betty Jo (Pack) Scarbarough was born January 27, 1927 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to George W. Pack and May O. (Lang) Pack. She passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021 at her home in Chickasha. She was 94.
Graveside services for Betty Jo Scarbarough, 94, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in Fairlawn Cemetery with Sister Alice Wendling officiating.
Betty grew up in Chickasha and graduated from CHS in 1945. She then went to work for Bell Telephone Company where she worked as an operator for 27 years. When the Chickasha office closed in 1978, she transferred to Oklahoma City and spent 20 years in the plant department of Bell Telephone. She had last worked at Grady Memorial Hospital. She volunteered at the Salvation Army between her retirement from the phone company and working at the hospital.
On October 30, 1953, she married Willard Scarbarough and they shared over 40 years together until his passing in 1994.
Betty was an Eagles member and a lifetime member of the Telephone Company Pioneers. She attended First Baptist Church for much of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Willard and son Paul A. Scarbarough, and her daughter-in-law Emma Scarbarough.
Survivors include her son Jerry Scarbarough of Chickasha; granddaughter Melissa Scarbarough of Duncan, Janeta Montalbo of Oklahoma City and Laverna Scarbarough of Chickasha; great-granddaughters Tabatha Davidson, Rheanna and Gracie Montalbo, all of Chickasha; and other extended family and friends.
Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
