Clean or Dirty?
Many years ago I was working on my old ‘64 Ford work truck. In the process I got really dirty. Well, it got to the point where I had to go to town to get parts. My young son was horrified that I was going to town looking all nasty. I think he was embarrassed and didn’t want to be seen with me in that condition. I told him, “son, don’t ever be embarrassed or ashamed to be seen if you have a little dirt on you and you have been working hard and doing some hard labor. Don’t be so prideful about how you look on the outside. What matters is being honest and clean on the inside”!!
You know we were all dirty and nasty with sin before we got born again but Jesus cleansed us of ALL of our sin. Now some folks will still remember how dirty you once were, and they will certainly condemn you of any future mistakes. But God looks at you differently when you are born again and cleansed by the blood of Jesus! He no longer looks at you as a dirty old sinner because He sees what Jesus has done for you on the inside. You are no longer under condemnation and are now forgiven of old sin and also any new sin as long as you confess your sins and repent of
them.
God is faithful to have mercy and forgive. That now makes you the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus!! That’s what you are when you get born again!!! Jesus takes your sin and replaces it with HIS
righteousness!!! So you don’t ever have to be embarrassed or ashamed again of a sinful life. But don’t be arrogant and prideful about it either. Be humble and thankful for all the goodness provided you by God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
Blessings in His Word, Love, and Power!!
