The Chickasha Fightin’ Chicks got off to a hot start and never looked back, defeating the Altus Bulldogs in the season opener at home, 51-7.
On the first play from scrimmage in the 2021 season opener, the Chicks defense forced a fumble for a scoop and score for Junior linebacker Price Molder.
Chickasha’s fast start continued, with a touchdown catch and rumble by Senior running back Malachi Paukei to put the Chicks up 14-0 early.
The Fightin’ Chicks scored three touchdowns in the opening quarter to take a 21-0 lead into the second quarter. The Bulldogs showed life late in the 1st half with a fumble recovery, but the Chicks forced a fumble of their own the very next play with a physical play by the defense. They would answer with another touchdown to make it 28-0 with 4:52 remaining in the 1st half.
Chickasha was far from done. With 18 seconds remaining, Sophomore Quarterback Cade Rayburn hit Senior receiver Tae’Shon Richardson for a passing touchdown.
