James Evan Hall, Jr.


Funeral service for James Evan Hall, Jr., 65 of Pocasset, Oklahoma will be held Friday, August 13, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. in the Sonrise Baptist Church.  

James Evan Hall, Jr. (Jimmy) was born in Anadarko, Oklahoma October 21, 1955 to James and Gertrude Hall. They moved from Verden, Oklahoma to Pocasset, Ok to a new farm in 1957, where Jimmy would grow up surrounded by people who would be lifelong friends and neighbors.

Jimmy grew up and attended Pocasset grade school and Amber high school graduating in 1973. He was in High School when the two schools consolidated. After highschool he married Vicki Capps. They lived in Chickasha, OK until 1977, at that time they moved to Pocasset where they built a home on the family farm. Jimmy and Vicki had three children.

Jimmy worked hard all his life. His other passion was firefighting. Jimmy helped build the Grady Co. Volunteer fire department and served the department as Station Chief at one point, and also as Fire Chief. He retired after 37 years in 2014.

He also drove a truck for OEMA, Atlas Concrete, Grady Co. Road Crew, Lowes Farm Equipment and Standridge John Deere tractor.

Jimmy married his current wife Mary Hall in April of 2010. Jimmy lost his battle to brain cancer on August 7, 2021 at home. He left this world being at peace and with his Lord and Savior.

He was preceded in death by his Parents Jim and Gertrude Hall and one daughter Lissa Woody.

He was survived by wife Mary of the home, daughter Carrie Hodges of Foster, OK, son Kenny and  wife Sarah Hall of Clear Lake, TX, Step-daughter Melissa and husband Desmond Taylor of Chickasha, Ok, step-son Mark Higgins of Dallas, Tx. And 8 Grandchildren; Luke Hodges, Kara Morris, Blakelyn Woody, Kenzie and Lainey Hall, Kendyn and Kayden Taylor, and other extended family members.

Viewing will be held Thursday, August 12, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Ferguson funeral home.

Service and arrangements for cremation following the service are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
