Bobbie Gene Taylor was born to Roscoe and Hazel (Brunt) Taylor on June 12, 1936 in Blanchard, Oklahoma. He passed away on Sunday July 11, 2021 in Chickasha, Oklahoma at the age of 85.
Bob lived in Grady County most of his life. He attended and played basketball for Friend School and in 1954, his team won the very first Class C High School State Championship. He graduated from Friend High School in 1955. After graduation he joined the United States Army and later he was honorably discharged. Bob married Glenda Joy in Henrietta, TX on February 7th, 1970 and they were happily married for 48 years.
Bob worked for Perdue Housing in Seminole, OK and he worked on an oilrig on the north slope of Alaska in the late 60’s. In 1980 Bob and Glenda purchased Farmer’s Union Insurance in Chickasha from his parents where they worked side by side for 30 years until his retirement in Bob enjoyed having game roosters and cattle, as well as a large garden each year.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Taylor, his parents, Roscoe and Hazel Taylor, and his Grandson, Derrick Taylor.
Bob is survived by his three sons, Bret Taylor and wife Sue of Tabler, OK, Stacy Taylor and his wife Glenda of Bridgecreek, OK and Rob Taylor and his wife Jan of Alex, OK; grandchildren include Jonathan Taylor, Shawna Taylor, Dakota Shane and Bonita Taylor, Laysee Taylor, Layla Barron, Tanner Snider, and six great-grandchildren; sister, Aletha Lydick of Purcell, OK; brothers, Larry and Linda Taylor of Weatherford, TX, Jerry and Cathey Taylor of Alex, OK and Ricky and Patty Taylor of Chickasha, OK; Brother-in-law J.W. and wife Carolyn Joy of Alex, OK, one aunt, Jean Taylor of Chickasha, OK, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
