“Can’t We All Just Get Along?”
Psalm 133:1, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” The Psalm goes on to say that dwelling in unity and getting along is tied directly to being anointed, being blessed and having eternal life.
Seeing the flip side of this is how bad and unpleasant it is for brethren to dwell in strife and not get along. What do you think the lack of unified fellowship does to the anointing in your life? How can the Lord pour out His blessings in your life if you are fussing and fighting with your fellow Christian?
Could it be that the lack of unity with your brethren can even affect your eternal life? 1st John 3:15 says, “Whosoever hateth his brother is a Murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.” Now that’s a wake up scripture!!
Back up to verse 14 and it says, “We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.”
John 15:12, our Lord Jesus said, “This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.”
The first word in Psalm 133:1 is “Behold” which means to see or look at what’s going on. I don’t know about you, but I’ve seen enough bad and
unpleasant things in the past that I’m more than ready to “behold” the good and the pleasant. It is not impossible to dwell together in unity. All we have to do is live by the love God has planted in our inner man for one another and stop living by our emotions.
When will we learn that Love is not an emotion but a decision of choice? Behold and see the truth in His Word.
Have a blessed day in his Word, Love, and Power.
