A new one of a kind art studio is opening in Marlow on June 10th. Located at 210 West Main in downtown Marlow, Jolene Forbes is opening ‘Jolenes Art Den’..
Jolene has had a successful gallery in the Paseo Art District in Oklahoma City for the past eight years and now is bringing it closer to home in Marlow.
She had purchased the Main Street building several years ago with the vision of and art gallery, but sometimes life send you in a different direction.
Jolene Forbes has always been interested in art and turned to art as a way to manage the feelings of losing her husband to a medical condition and a son in a traffic accident all in the same year.
“I love to show color, shapes and design in my work whether it be oils, encaustic or fused glass.” said Forbes
The new gallery features an eclectic collection of mostly Oklahoma artists pieces that are available for purchase, plus Jolene’s personal work.
She will also feature a boutique area which will offer shawl/coverups, t-shirts, purses, scarfs and other accessories.
“The artist I select to showcase are all amazing Oklahoma artists and each has their own personal style, form and creativeness” said Forbes. “I tried to collect many different forms of art.”
Her gallery is across the street from Giussipies Italian Dining and Flores Mexican Restaurant. There are a number of eateries in Marlow along with other unique stores and businesses.
