Anadarko man killed in collision


A fatality collision with a pedestrian cost an Anadarko man lost his life on Saturday, April 10,2021.
 The accident occurred approximately 2 miles East of Minco and 2/10 mile East of County Road 2860 in Grady County.
 According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports, Artemio Moreno, 77 of Anadarko was struck by a 2012 Chevrolet pick up driven by Brian S. McConnell, 20 of Tuttle. McConnell was uninjured.
 According to the report, a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup with a tow dolly was parked in the roadway east bound in the westbound lane. The vehicle was unoccupied at the time. A 2007 Chevrolet Impala was parked westbound in the westbound lane. Drivers were attempting to load the Impala on to the dolly. McConnell’s vehicle swerved to the right to avoid the vehicle(s) and struck the pedestrian, and both vehicles and the car dolly.
 Moreno was pronounced dead at the scene from massive injuries sustained in the collision and transported to Medical Examiner’s office in Oklahoma City, OK.
 Passengers in McConnells vehicle were uninjured. They were Erica M Schuringa, 18 of Newcastle and Shadon K Dunkle, 19, of Minco.
 The cause of the accident remains under investigation. The report list McConnell as DUI.
 The incident is investigated by Trooper Russell Boswell #802 of the Caddo County Detachment of Troop G. Assisted by Trooper Jason Riddle #944 of the Traffic Homicide Unit, and LT Nathan Mackey #114 of Troop G. Also assisted by Grady County Sheriff’s Department, Minco Police Department, Minco Fire Department and Tuttle Fire Department.
