Funeral services for Carol Lynne Lister, 88, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel with Kim Hayes officiating.
Carol was born on December 13, 1932 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Warren Leroy “W. L.” Lister and Verna Mae (Surber) Lister. He died on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at his home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Carol attended Chickasha Schools. He first worked with his dad at the salvage yard and then worked in the oilfield for a time.
He married Anna Ruth Seely and to this union his son Glen Leroy “Butch” Lister was born.
He owned and operated Lister Trucking for many years.
On October 18, 1957, he married Betty Lee Garrett. They had many years together before her passing and their children were Regina Ann, Robie Lynn and Landon Shawn.
Besides trucking, another passion of Carol’s was driving race cars, much of the time with Ray Fine. He also was a great dancer.
He married Phyllis Joan Parker on January 7, 1993 in Chickasha, Oklahoma and they had 20 years together before she passed in 2013.
Carol was preceded in death by both parents, wives Betty and Phyllis, infant son, Michael Fawn Lister, son Glen Leroy “Butch” Lister, daughter Robi Lynn (Lister) Moss, and grandson Michael Lister, Sr.
Survivors include his children Regina (Lister) Mitchell and husband Harry of Ninnekah and Landon Lister and wife Courtney of Chickasha; stepchildren Lauri Jones and husband Terry of Amber, Tim Douglas of Rush Springs, Billy Douglas of Chickasha and Jason Douglas of Duncan; sister Retha Ann Taylor of Bridge Creek; his little dog, Taco; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and other extended family and friends.
Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
