The 2021 Southwest Oklahoma District Livestock Show was one for the books! Youth from all over the Southwest Area of Oklahoma traveled to the Grady County Fairgrounds in Chickasha to show their livestock projects they have been growing and getting ready for the Oklahoma Youth Expo in March.
This year, the Southwest District show also had their first ever Broiler (chicken) show which had many entries.
The Southwest District show also held its second Ag Mechanics contest where FFA and 4-H members in the Southwest Area made shop built items that are useful in everyday use, there were around 50 well made entries. The Grand Champion project of the Ag Mechanic contest was made by Ryder Bailey of the Ninnekah 4-H Club.
The livestock portion of the show started on Wednesday the 10th with Lamb and Goats, then on the 11th was the cattle show, and the 12th & 13th was the hog show which concluded the District Show.
Despite the inclement weather there were many entries in all classes of the livestock and the competition was good as ever!
