Anadarko woman survives head on collision


Christine Schumpert, 59 of Anadarko survived a head-on collision on Wednesday, February 5th when her vehicle collided with a vehicle traveling the wrong way on Highway 81 and Britton Road approximately ½ mile west of El Reno.
 According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports, the 7:00 pm crash occurred when a 2003 Ford Ranger driven by Kenneth Ramsey, age 71, of Midwest City, was travelling southbound in the northbound lanes of US-81. A 2015 Nissan Altima driven by Christine Schumpert was travelling northbound on US-81 when the vehicles hit head on. Both drivers were extricated at an unknown time prior to the arrival of the trooper by El Reno Fire Department utilizing the Hurst tool.
 Schumpert was transported by AirEvac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK. Admitted in good condition with head, leg, and trunk internal injuries.
 Ramsey was transported by Pafford EMS to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and admitted in good condition with head and internal trunk injuries.
 The incident was investigated by Trooper Smith #628 of Troop A. Assisted by Trooper Johnson #409 of Troop A, Canadian County Sheriff’s Office, El Reno Police Department, Pafford EMS, and AirEvac.
