OBITUARIES

Mary Ann Porter

Mary Ann Porter, 56, of Blanchard, was freed from the pain of her earthly body and went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2021. She was surrounded by her four children, her mother and sister.

Mary was born April 29, 1964 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Mary (Barrington) Sill and Billy Ray West.

She grew up in Ninnekah and attended Ninnekah School where she had been a cheerleader in high school. Her dad, who has passed away, always called her “Cricket” and she was looking forward to being with him again.

She was a fun-loving free-spirited soul. When her children were young, they remember her working at a candy store and they enjoyed getting treats. They also fondly remember trips to the lake house at Texoma, listening to Aerosmith while they tube or waterski.

Mary worked in customer service for an insurance company. In more recent years, she was not able to work due to her health.

She loved adventure and was bold, living life to the fullest. She would try anything once and liked amusement parks, going to the ocean and traveling. Mary loved the Lord. She was outspoken and funny, always having a joke.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, Billy Ray West and her grandparents Ray and Ruby West and Glen and Ellen Barrington.

Survivors include her mother Mary Sill and husband John of Blanchard; children April Kent of Chickasha, Jeff Coppedge and wife Kari of Edmond, Audra Miller and husband Robert of Yukon, and Amie Porter of Chickasha; grandchildren Meili Peterson, Evrett Kent, Kostner Coppedge, Keaton Coppedge, Teagan Strahan, Nova Norrid, Nicole Gilbert, Riley Gilbert, Abel Miller, Braxton Mealer; brother Steve West; sisters Diana West and Tammy Minyen; and other extended family and friends.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at a later date by the family.
