Ralph Frederick “Rick” Ford


Funeral services for Ralph Frederick “Rick” Ford, 68, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at The First Baptist Church with Brother Kim Hayes officiating.

Ralph Frederick “Rick” Ford was born July 18, 1952 in Chickasha, Oklahoma to James F. Ford and Emma Laura (Hulsey) Ford. He died Sunday, October 18, 2020, on his daddy’s birthday, in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

In 1970, Rick graduated from Chickasha High School where he played baseball. He then attended SWOSU in Weatherford. He went to work with his father at Ford Energy Corporation.

On May 12, 1979, he married Tami Elizabeth Humphrey and they had over 41 years of marriage.

Rick served as President and also as Treasurer of Chickasha Little League for many years. He coached his sons and was involved in all of their athletic activities. He was passionate about OU sports and loved to watch his son Erik’s wrestling team, The Piedmont Wildcats. During his earlier years, he enjoyed golf and softball. Later in life he loved being at his grandkids’ sporting events.

He cared deeply about family and friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand when he was needed.

Rick was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and his brother, Jimmy.

He is survived by his wife, Tami, of the home; sons Matthew Ford, Erik Ford and his wife Amanda, Andrew Ford and his wife Katheryn; grandchildren Kaiden, Ian, Draper and Karigan; brothers Craig Ford and his wife, Jeris, Mike Ford and his wife Susan; his father-in-law Donnie Persinger; many nieces and nephews and their families, Blair, Amity, Brandon, Stephanie, Dilan, Haylee, Jennifer, Kelsey, Caroline, Alexander, William and Harrison; friends he considered family Gene Bullard and Les Bayless; many great-nieces and great-nephews and other extended family and friends.

Masks and social distancing are required.

Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
