SaltCreek Casino to host first blood drive of the year with Oklahoma Blood Institute

SaltCreek Casino continues its partnership with Oklahoma Blood Institute with the first blood drive of the year. The OBI Bloodmobile will be parked in front of SaltCreek Casino on Monday, Feb. 17, from 1-6 p.m.

Patrons who successfully donate blood or plasma will receive $10 in Bonus Play, which is valid to use at SaltCreek Casino until 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 17.  “As we begin a new decade, we’re proud to continue our partnership with OBI,” said Cole Meeks, SaltCreek Casino general manager. “We recognize the lifesaving work OBI does for our community and are honored to help Oklahomans in need.”

Donors will also receive a t-shirt themed after the popular TV show, “Friends,” as well as one voucher for admission at Frontier City Theme Park in Oklahoma City. “Voluntary blood donation is one of the most selfless acts someone can do—being a friend to a stranger and giving hope, healing and comfort during a life-threatening health crisis,” said John Armitage, M.D., president and CEO of Oklahoma Blood Institute.

One blood donation can save up to three lives. Approximately 1,200 donations a day are needed to help patients in over 160 hospitals and medical facilities statewide.

SaltCreek patrons and members of the community are encouraged to give blood. Appointments can be scheduled in advance by calling the front desk at 405-459-4000. Donors can also schedule an appointment by calling (877) 340-8777 or logging on to obi.org.
