Programs for all ages at the Chickasha Public Library

Check out all the exciting programs at the Chickasha Public Library happening this month.

In addition to the Chickasha Public Library’s regular Preschool Storytime on Wednesday mornings, the Library hosts Beyond the Shelf, a youth library club ages 10 – 15 every Wednesday at 4:00 pm. Additional programs offered throughout February include:

February 17th at 11:00 am a class on Using Medication Safely, presented by the Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative. Using Medication Safely is a one-time class free to the public; there is no registration required. This program is designed to empower older adults to be more active participants in decisions regarding their medications. Through learning about all aspects of medications, these adults can significantly reduce the likelihood of experiencing a drug-related problem.

February 18th is the beginning of the Oklahoma Healthy Aging Initiative’s Diabetes and Beyond eight-week program. Classes are held in the Library’s meeting room on Tuesdays from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. Registration is required as space is limited, please call the Library at 405-222-6075 today if you are interested in this free series of health classes. Participants are provided with a comprehensive education on how to better manage diabetes. Through this interactive class, you will take control of your health by learning how to help control your diabetes with proper diet, exercise, and medication.

Using Medication Safely and Diabetes and Beyond classes are funded through the Oklahoma Department of Libraries with a federal grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
